Leading the fight against AMR Roundtable 2023

Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) is one of the biggest global challenges to health. It has the potential to claim 10 million lives a year and create an economic impact loss of $10tr. It is currently outpacing our ability to find solutions to the problem.

There is an urgent need to grow a pipeline of new antimicrobial tests and treatments to overcome the worldwide threat of AMR. PACE – a new £30m AMR initiative by Medicines Discovery Catapult, Innovate UK and LifeArc – is working to accelerate the early-stage innovation required to tackle AMR and save lives.

To mark the close of World AMR Awareness Week on 24 November, PACE in partnership with Insider, held a special roundtable event looking at how Britain can help lead the fight back against AMR.
