The North East Innovation Lab is part of Newcastle Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (NuTH) and works with organisations of all sizes, from university spin outs to large international companies, providing access to samples, facilities and expertise which support the development of new diagnostic tests. 

The National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) HealthTech Research Centre in Diagnostic and Technology Evaluation is hosted by NuTH in partnership with Newcastle University. Our aim is to ensure that better diagnostics are available as quickly as possible for patients. We evaluate diagnostic tests and devices, as well as technologies related to imaging, artificial intelligence, and digital healthcare.
