The Boards receive guidance from strategic and scientific advisory committees and groups comprised of experts in AMR, innovation and early-stage translation to ensure funds are awarded fairly, inclusively and in a way that is most effective for the sector. Two boards meet regularly to support the programme: the Joint Steering Board and the Joint Programme Management Board.
Joint Steering Board (JSB)
The JSB provide oversight; monitoring the programme and ensuring the terms of the Agreement between the managing partners are upheld. The JSB has one nominated representative from each of IUK, LifeArc and MDC.
Joint Programme Management Board (JPMB)
The JPMB has representation from each of the three managing partners. The remit of the JPMB is to provide strategic leadership, ensure programme delivery and the effective running of PACE. The JPMB makes project selection and prioritisation decisions, as well as reviewing project progress and identifying any arising intellectual property (IP) and publication opportunities.
JPMB members include Programme Directors, Dr Clive Mason (LifeArc) and Dr Bev Isherwood (MDC), and Dr Phil Packer, Senior Responsible Officer for PACE and Innovation Lead for AMR and Vaccines at Innovate UK. Two further representatives from each organisation are permitted to join.
